Fall 2019 day trips near Hampstead, NC

In coastal North Carolina, we have to work hard to pretend like it’s fall. The weather really isn’t in tune with the season, so we can’t wear scarves and sweaters. To make up for it, we buy fall decor in excess, slurp down iced PSLs, and snap a million photos at every fall themed event we can, sweating in our boots and jeans, slapping mosquitos and planning a beach day.

(Yeah, it’s that last part that makes it all worth it. Beach day in October? I think yes!)

Here are my top three day trips for fall family fun, all about an hour away from Hampstead, North Carolina. It’s so much fall fun, you don’t even have to pretend anymore. ;)

Hubbs Corn Maze & Fall Festival

Distance from Hampstead: 1 hour 20 minutes

Cost: $13-$25 admissions fee

Hayrides, pumpkin patch, slides, food vendors, and more games, plus a really spectacular and challenging corn maze. It’s worth the drive!

Mikes Farm

Distance from Hampstead: 1 hour

Cost: Free to enter. $2 Hayride

Hayride to a large pumpkin patch, several farm animals the kids can feed, small gift shop, and a really delicious restaurant. You can pack a picnic, but you would be missing out.

Galloway Farm Maze Craze

Distance from Hampstead: 1 hour

Cost: $10 admissions fee

Scavenger hunt, duck races, tractor and barrel train rides, pallet maze, spooky story maze, live animals, and concessions.
